Types of water heaters we service: gas, electric, power vent, direct vent and tankless
Unfortunately, water heaters will require replacement at some point during the occupancy of a home. Conventional tank water heaters can last for 8-12 years on average. However, when used and maintained appropriately, it can even last for 15+ years. The tank has an anode rod that attracts corrosive elements in water, protecting its interior lining from corrosion. Some times the anode rode will and can be replaced and sometimes the issue is more extensive. There are many aspects to the water heater to consider.
Some signs that the water heater should be evaluated are as follows:
1) The water heater is old;
2) There are visible rust spots on the unit, the valve or pipes;
3) Noise coming from the heater possibly due to sediment build-up over time;
4) Water leaking from the heater;
5) Water not heating which could be due to some things such as thermostat, heating element, or insufficient tank size
Water heater maintenance, repair and replacement should be a job left to a professional. Our plumbers can assess the issue and provide a diagnosis. If it is found that the water heater should be replaced, our plumbers will remove the old unit and dispose of it safely and your new unit will be installed.
